Pure Christmas. The most festive plant to deliver for Christmas, our beautiful ivory and green poinsettia gift is super popular. Displayed in a white pot, this beautiful fresh poinsettia plant will bring cheer into the home or office. It’s also great value, lasting much longer than cut flowers, extending the joy of Christmas well into the new year.
Poinsettias are easy to care for, but as they have tropical origins, it’s important to make sure you follow some simple tips to care for your plant.
Light: Place in bright, indirect sunlight. They don’t like chilly windows or being near a cold draft.
Water: Keep the soil moist. If the soil feels dry to the touch, it’s time for water. Be careful not to flood them though, as their roots can rot.
Humidity: Appreciate humidity. Temperatures: 60º to 70º F. Repotting: At the beginning of June, prune back the plants so they're only about six inches tall, and repot them in a slightly larger container with fresh potting soil.
Fertilization: From June, feed them about once a month with half-strength, balanced liquid fertilizer.
Handling: Poinsettias have a milky, sticky sap that can irritate the skin and eyes, especially for people with latex allergies. It's a good idea to wear gloves when handling and wash off any sap that gets on your skin right away.
In some instances, our photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated.
Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers and/or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you’ve selected, we will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal value or higher value.
If any design elements are of major importance to your order, please include them in the florist instructions at checkout or contact us to ensure availability.
